Will playing in the HBL effect my college eligibility?
No, the HBL is FULLY complaint with the NCAA student-athlete amateur status rules. Playing in our league will not effect your eligibility if you are a Free Agent or Walk-On Player member because you do not get any cash prizes or extra benefits for those membership levels. If you are a current college player we recommend that you get approval to play in our league from your school's Athletic Director and/or Head Coach.
When does the league in my city start?
The HBL League is year-round. Be sure to opt-in to the player email news alert so you can get notifications about cities we have leagues going in. Official team practices begin the third week of the quarterly season and actual league play starts the fourth week within the start of the quarterly season. Click here to request the quarterly and weekly team and league schedule be emailed to you.
How much does it cost to play in the league?
All players are required to purchase a HBL player membership that ranges in cost based on membership level that a player selects. Players can join the league as FREE Walk-On Players if they sign with a HBL league team that is Team Owned (has an official HBL team owner). If you do not see the team or the team owner's information on the Official National HBL Website, we strongly recommend that you do not make any type of commitments to the team or team owner because they are not an official HBL team or team owner. If a team and team owner's information is on our website, they are an official HBL team in our league.

If you are a FREE Walk-On Player that would like to earn a cash prize while playing in the league, you can sell a minimum of 6 season tickets via our HBL scholarship player program to get bumped up to player member status. Once qualified with a minimum of 6 season ticket sells, the Walk-On Player membership and cash prize payout will be set at the same level as the 3rd Round Draft Pick Player.
